Ask Jared, Your San Diego Dog Walker
Your Go-To Guide for a Happy Dog:
You Asked, I Answered!
What experience do you have with dog walking?
For over 15 years I’ve been dog walking and dog-sitting for friends, family and co-workers. My regular customers have told me that I was the only person they trust with their “fur kids.” I have experience with nearly every dog breed and size including golden doodles, labs, chihuahua, mixed breed, Pitt bulls, staffies, frenchies, and terriers.
What certifications do you have?
I’m a Certified Pet Sitter by Pet Sitters International and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS); I also am Red Cross Pet first aid certified and have been background checked and Insured by and bonded by Business of Insurers of the Carolinas
Are you bonded and insured?
Yes, I’m fully insured. This includes liability coverage in case of accidents or injuries, giving you peace of mind while your pet are in my care.
Do you have references?
Yes, I have over 40 5-star Google reviews and am more than happy to connect you with current clients to share their experiences.
What happens if my dog doesn’t get along with other dogs?
If your dog doesn’t enjoy the company of other dogs, I offer private solo walks to ensure their comfort and safety.
How many dogs do you walk at once? I typically walk one dog at a time and can walk up to two dogs at a time. This is highly dependent on the dog, some dogs love socializing, others not so much. I consult with the owner and follow their guidelines and preferences for their dog.
What ages of dogs do you walk?
I walk dogs of all ages, from puppies to senior dogs, all breeds.
Do you walk dogs alone or with a partner?
I typically walk your dog by myself to provide each dog a personalized experience according to their needs, whether they are young, full of life puppies with a lot of energy to spare or seasoned senior dogs who may need a bit of assistance here and there. I may occasionally walk with a partner if I’m training them so they can fill in for me if necessary. I’ll always ask your permission prior to having someone join me on a walk.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a walk?
I understand that plans change! No worries. You can cancel or reschedule walks. Please aim to give me at least 48 hours’ notice. For dog walks / dog daycare/adventure, I ask for a 48-hour cancellation. If you cancel less than 48-hours in advance, I’ll keep the fee and apply it toward a future service. For holidays, dog walking / dog daycare/adventure cancellations made less than 48-hours won’t receive a credit towards future services. For dog sitting / house sitting, I ask for a one-week cancellation, if you cancel in less than a week, we’ll keep the fee and apply it toward a future service. For holidays, dog sitting / house sitting cancellations in less than a week won’t receive a credit towards future services.
Will you pick up my dog from my home?
Yes! I will come to your location, take your dog for a walk, and return them to your home afterward. I also offer dog transportation (pickup and drop-off services), grocery shopping, fridge and pantry restock services for your convenience (when life gets a little too busy, you need an extra set of hands and legs, or simply want to extend the vacation afterglow as long as possible before starting back at work).
What is your typical schedule and availability?
I will make every attempt to personally fulfill your requests. There may be times when I’m unable to personally accommodate you due to a scheduling conflict, or other circumstances. If this occurs, I have trusted partners who can fill in for me if needed and are also background-checked, bonded and insured.
What should I do before the walk?
Please ensure that your dog is ready for their walk: make sure they have their leash, harness, and any necessary items like waste bags or medication. If your dog has any special instructions, make sure to let me know beforehand.
